We left at 8.30am Saturday morning
and it was raining really hard, but it didn't stop us going (only going in a Micra
with a tent in the boot that nearly stopped me, because my van had no M.o.T and I
was in the middle of putting an Eberspacher heater in) When we
arrived the weather was nice and the sun shining it was going to be a
grand day. So we set the tent up and then we headed for the Trade Stalls looking
for bargains, but didn't spot anything I wanted. We spent all day looking round
because it was so big, then we had a look at people cooking in a van (Bottom
Right) in first place was Liz, closely followed by Andy and Annette in 2nd and
3rd places respectively. Which they had an hour to make a 3 course meal, that went really well. Time was getting on by now so we headed back
to the tent had a game of cards and polished off a bottle of brandy
between us, then went to the hall for some more beer and by this time we were
tipsy everyone was so relaxed and cheerful and you could not help but get on
with people that attended this event. Woke up the following morning at 8.45am
hungry so had a bite to eat then another look round "spot the 2 rare vans?
and the Stretch Beetle below?" I bought an exhaust and tyre cover for
my van. Went to the show 'n' shine were there was some magnificent vans and
cars, as you can see from the pictures below. What an absolute brilliant day we
had and we will definitely be going back in 2002 so watch out for us because we
will be in the van next time. We would like to say how very well Organised the
event was and what a good job they did of it.
