Minehead 97 was a great event, when me and my wife (Helen) went to Minehead it was 6 hours of a drive and when we arrived we paid £12, I think! for the weekend. We parked up in the middle of a field and that was it for me I was shattered, so I set the bed up and had a kip for a hour or so. Later on in the evening I woke up to the sound of a live band playing 70s music (the Beatles, Rolling Stones etc) and Helen was in the front of the cab singing to the music and getting a bit drunk, so I decided to join her and after a bit we locked the van up and went across to the centre where all the events were happening. What a great time we had there were beer tents, Hot dog stands with tables and chairs where you could sit down to watch the band playing. People there were very friendly and were just stopping and having a chat with us and then they would move on, and more people came chatting. A few more beers were in order and we ended up getting a bit tipsy. The next day and we were up early to try to catch any bargains, but I didn't find what I was looking for at the time, anyway onto the show 'n' shine we went, and what beautiful cars they were showing, Helen could not believe how well people looked after there cars. After that was over we had another wonder round in case we missed anything. But what a great event it was and we wouldn't hesitate to go to another show. The next day arrived, and we set off nice and early to move onto Newquay because we were on our holidays for 2 weeks, we drove over 1000 miles in the van visiting different places on the south east coast of England (Newquay, Plymouth, Devon (Sidmouth), Torquay, Ex-mouth and then when we finally arrived  to get onto the motorway near Bristol the van engine seized and we ended getting a lift home off the RAC. Number 3 piston had seized itself to the barrel because the weather was so warm. But it was an excellent 2 weeks we had and we would do it again tomorrow. Sorry I have no pictures to show you but we forgot to take a camera. But if anyone out there has any pictures of this show then please send them to me and I will add them to this page. Thank You
