1972 VW Camper
My 1972 Bay Window

The Bus you see above I still own and is my second VW I have restored. So let me tell you a bit of information as to how I acquired the Camper van. I got the urge again (you know) so when I first went to view the bus for the first time in Rochdale back in September 1996 down a little back alley, I felt so sorry for it and knew I had to have it although it was falling to bits. There was a few new panels for it but not half as many as I would need, so I haggled with the seller and got him down to £400 (because if I hadn't bought it I think it would have ended up on the scrap heap) I drove it to it's new home back in Wigan (my mam's back yard) and started work on it straight away, plenty of late nights and early mornings trying to get the camper back on the road. In the end I got it there and it's been worth every minute restoring the van to it's near glory. I would like to say a big thank you to all my family who have put up with my moods, the noise any their help in this project. ps my van started off as a Devon conversion and is now a Dormobile. The pictures you see below is the state the van was in when I purchased it, and is all my own work.
My motto is never give up on anything you know is worth it and this was well worth it.

All my panels and other bits were supplied by the companies above, who i would highly recommend to anybody wanting to restore a old VW Camper or Beetle.
