2006
The
Perfect Brew
Aircooled
Dreams &
Druid’s
Brew make it to Vanfest!
Hot
hot weather, Super cool Vans and excellent Music. Just
the right ingredients for the perfect show.
Mix it all together and you’ve got Vanfest 2006 !
This years Vanfest had everything needed for the perfect show. The weather was
superb, couldn’t have ordered it better. Beautiful
sunshine the whole weekend, which was in complete contrast to last year.
There
were some amazing and stunning Vans, as well as some er…… lets just say
… rather unusual ones.
And
to top it all, the music was top notch! Thanks to the welcome return of
Druid’s Brew. THE
most excellent VW band who made it this year after
circumstances caused them to miss last years show.
Having
driven over 9000 miles already this year they trundled along in “Pumpkin”
their faithful (sometimes) 64 samba. Which doubles as
Home, transport for all the gear and provides power as well as stage for their
“Play anywhere” show.
Not
content with headlining Saturday night with Tim’s second to none 12 string
guitar playing and Josh on bongos ‘the core of Druid’s Brew’, they also
put in some awesome afternoon shows which will form part of the forthcoming
“live” album. Watch out for that one!
Sunday afternoon’s performance was particularly good. maybe due to
everyone still being a bit ‘loose’ from the previous evening J
The band, have two albums out, The debut album:
“Air-cooled Heaven,” and “34 Horses”. The new Live
album is coming soon. They also provide the soundtrack to, and can be seen in
an exclusive Live in session at Vanfest 2006, on the new VW DVD. Available
now, from ‘Aircooled dreams’.who
were there filming at the show. Featuring many of the best
vans as well as interviews with owners, traders and much more.
Held
at the 3 counties showground, nestled in the picturesque
Malvern Hills
, Vanfest has grown to
become arguably the biggest and best VW Camper show. Attracting
visitors from around the world. And this years show proved worthy of
that position.
All
in all it was a truly great show and a Big thanks goes out to all involved. We
Look forward to next year.
